4 months old

I can't believe my little guy is already four months! He is doing so well. He is cooing and smiling all the time now. He is drooling constantly, and I am wondering if he is already starting to get one of his bottom teeth. Sophia and Sam got theirs much later, but the way Preston is drooling makes me wonder. Physically he is so strong, he rolls from stomach to back, almost instantly every time I put him on his belly. He is sitting in the bumbo fairly well, although when he is done sitting in it, he arches so strong that he can almost pop himself right out of it. He has a little light projector in his crib that plays music that he is actually hitting and has turned on in the middle of the night! I can't believe he has done it. The first time he did it I thought that it was an accident, but now he has done it a few times. I am not sure how much he weighs right now as his four month visit hasn't happened yet. But I am pretty sure he is my biggest baby!:-)
He is still not sleeping through the night but is seeming to be doing a little better. He has two four hour blocks during the night, he sleeps from about 7:30 until 11:30, then he eats, then sleeps until about 4. But after that four AM feeding he is wanting to eat every two hours! It is exhausting!!! I know I should just let him cry it out but I just can't do it. I always want to comfort him and make sure he is fine. And if he wakes up then he obviously is lonely so wants to be near someone.....We shall see:-) When you compair the bear pictures he certainly is getting bigger!!!

Weber Christmas

Each year after Christmas we get together to celebrate Christmas with Matt's parents and his brother Tim and Tim's family. Tim and Tracy have three kids, and so do Matt and I. The kids really enjoy getting together and playing with their cousins. In the past Jacob and Sammy have gotten the same gift each Christmas, and this year was no different. It is fun to watch each child's different reaction
Sophia and Ava waited so patiently for their turn at opening their gifts
And then it was their turn to open their presents, the girls were much more animated than the boys
Preston finally got to meet Auntie Tracy
And then we tried to get a photo of the six Weber grandchildren with their grandparents. But I think Sam had ants in his pants, and it was nearly impossible to get everyone looking and smiling at the same time

Auntie TeeTee, Uncle Danny and the Worthleys

Matt's aunt Terri and his uncle Danny were so good to us. I have really developed a wonderful bond with Terry as has Sammy. They used to live out here and Terry was so wonderful all the time. She was always willing to help out and she really enjoyed spending time with us and playing with Sammy. Unfortunately for us, shortly after Sophia was born they moved out to Oregon! It was so very sad when they left. I have missed Terri so much. Right now they are back out here! We are so thankful. Their daughter Traci is getting married in april. So they are out here until May! I couldn't be happier. I am so thankful that Sophia and Preston will really get a chance to spend time with them and develop a good relationship with them. Cousins Traci and Peter have come up several times in the last year and we love them so much! The kids are really fond of them and have great visits each time they come. This was no exception! They were really rough housing with Peter.
I can't wait to spend lots more time visiting with these guys once the craziness of the holidays are over!!!

Christmas Day

Since I worked Christmas Eve overnight I was so concerned that I wouldn't get home before the munchkins woke up Christmas morning. But they slept until almost 8am! I was so thankful. They had a blast opening their gifts and playing with their new toys. Christmas was small this year as the finances are pretty tight, but the kids were really happy with their gifts. Sophia got a baby backpack for her Bitty Baby and some clothes for her. She was thrilled with that gift. She also really enjoyed many of her stocking stuffers: her watch, her bath toys, her lip gloss etc etc. Sammy was thrilled with his nerf gun (NOT my favorite thing!), and his new wood working kit. He also enjoyed many of his stocking stuffers, especially the "Flarp" which is noise making goo. After we opened gifts, we went to church, which unfortunately I didn't get to hear any of the message as Preston was exceedingly irritable at that time and I couldn't get him to sleep. After church we went to my mom's for a few hours and got to spend some time with my family. And then after that Matt, Sam and Sophia went to his aunts house for dinner and Preston and I came home, as I was extremely exhausted by that point. We sang happy birthday to Jesus which is a very special tradition I want to continue with my kids. I think in the future I would like to do the same type of thing that my mom has always done on Christmas Eve, which is have a birthday party for Jesus! We make a cake and sing happy birthday to him....Reading the Christmas story would be a perfect part of that.
It was really nice to see how excited the kids were this year. They really were thrilled and it was so fun to be a part of that.
Preston has become so serious lately when he sees a camera. He has these huge gummy smiles that just melt my heart but as soon as you pull out the camera he gets very serious and quiet.

Christmas Eve

Wow another blessed day we have had. We spent a part of the day with each of our families, and also went to a wonderful Christmas Eve service at our church. My favorite holiday tradition has always been spending Christmas Eve at my mom's house as she has hosted a birthday party for Jesus. This year the typical traditional things that she does didn't happen, which was a little sad, but it was wonderful to all be there as a family. My brother Dennis and sister Johanna drove up as a surprise for Christmas so it was wonderful to spend the time with them as well, especially since my brother will be deploying in february... My Auntie Irene and Danay
Preston and Auntie Johanna
Dasanee and her baby doll
This is my sister Doreen and my future brother in law....they got engaged on Christmas Eve!!!!:-) Welcome to the family Christian. We are glad to have you
The kids anxiously waiting in front of the tree, for their gift from Meme' and grandpa.
Sam and Sophia with their Christmas Eve gift from my parents
This was my favorite part of the night...My parents have been married for 32 years and have never been on a honeymoon. Shortly after they were married my dad was deployed and continued to be frequently deployed for the next twenty years. They also continued to keep having children (LOL), and therefore the finances and childcare situation has never been right to allow for a honeymoon. And now they have health issues, and my sister Doreen and her baby living with them, so still financially would be a challenge. But my brother Dennis and his wife Johanna actually bought a time share, and are giving it to my parents this year, for them to go on a honeymoon! Both of my parents got teary eyed. I am so thankful that my brother and sister were able to do this for them! I cannot wait for them to have their well deserved honey moon!!!
After our afternoon at my moms we went to a wonderful Christmas Eve service at our church. The service was geared towards kids, and really simplified the Nativity story, explaining what a census was etc etc. My older two had a wonderful time and I truly enjoyed it as well. After that we went to Matt's grandmother's house. Although unfortunately I don't have many pictures, the kids had a great time there as well. This first one is of Sam and his cousin Jacob, this is Matt's only sibling Tim's son.
And this is my mother in law Cindy with Sammy, of course that boy of mine always is wiggling...
And this special couple are Matt's cousins. Tracy and Peter, who live in Virginia. Peter is in the navy so unfortunately they live far away, but we love it when they come up.
And then after this crazy busy fun filled day I went in to work 11p-7a in the ICU at the hospital....

MRI results, IVIG fiasco and Christmas blessings

Goodness, it has been such a crazy week!!! I am rejoicing today in the fact that Sophia DOES NOT have a tumor or any form of cancer on her bone! I am so thankful and relieved. I didn't even realize the stress that I was carrying around while waiting for the MRI and then the results. I was speaking with my cousin yesterday and she really helped me put things into perspective when she said "GOD knows!" And He does, no matter what the outcome, no matter what my thoughts/feelings are God knows, and I am so grateful to have that knowledge. So yesterday morning to add to the craziness of our week, I opened our mail and it stated that Sam's IVIG had been denied! As this had never happened before I didn't know even where to begin with fighting it. He was actually due for his treatment yesterday and I panicked thinking that it was a holiday weekend and that he would be exposed to tons of friends and family throughout the weekend, and that we would end up in the hospital next week....But praise God, things have worked out! God opened the doors for the approval to go back through and we went in tonight for his IVIG. Unfortunately it was a HORRIBLE day for an IV for Sam. It took eight attempts and three nurses to finally get an IV in him. I just feel so awful when that is what happens to him. Thankfully he is such a trooper but I wish he didn't have to be. I really wish that we could get a port for him but his immunologist doesn't think that this is a good idea. His multiple other doctors think that it is though....I thought as he got older IV access would get easier but it hasn't yet. This week has been a complete and total roller coaster ride! But throughout the whole thing God has been beside me carrying me through. It is so strange to think back this week to how things have been absolutely crazy, but that in each and EVERY situation God was right there seeing us through. How amazing is he??? Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I am so ready to celebrate the miraculous coming of our Lord to this earth!!! Praising God tonight, knowing that He is a God of miracles, and that regardless of our circumstances that NEVER CHANGES!!!

The REAL reason for the season

We received this Fisher Price Little People Nativity set as a gift last year. I am so thankful for it. Even though the kids know the Christmas story and we can read it to them, it is so nice for them to have hands on play with it. They really tell the whole story in their words about how Our Lord came to this earth as a baby. I am humbled and blessed to hear them tell the story:-)
Luke 2:9-14 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men
