Red Apple Farm
Today I got to go to the Red Apple Farm with Preston and Paisley. Preston is part of a wonderful program in which a home visitor comes into our home twice a week and bring him either a new toy or new book each week. I had her start coming last year when we were just determining how poor his immune system was and that we couldn't really take him out into public too much. Martha started last year and was wonderful. I am so blessed and thankful for her, and am so thrilled that she is also a believer. :-)
So today we went with the agency that provides the home visitors. There were many families that took part in this trip. We went on a wagon ride (there was NO HAY!!!) and picked a bag of apples and a pumpkin. Preston only picked one apple and then he was done. He wouldn't put the apple he picked into his bag either. Right when we got there we were to go on the wagon ride. Preston was not at all interested in the ride. He was actually even crying and trying to get off. Poor guy was scared of the tractor. But once the ride started he kept saying things like "Wee! Fun!!! Wee" It was so cute.

s
He wandered around in the apple orchard with his empty bag. He didn't put one apple in his bag. He ended up sitting with Martha for a little while and enjoyed eating an apple with her.

They also gave out apple cider. I didn't expect that Preston would enjoy the cider but he really did. He actually ended up asking for a second cup. He was so cute today. I really enjoyed this special time with him. Don't get me wrong it was really hard trying to juggle him and Paisley with no stroller (farm too bumpy), but it was a beautiful day that God blessed us with.

Just prior to leaving Preston went over and sat on a big rock to watch the animals. The donkey started making lots of nose, and Preston told it "Sssshhh" and "Be quiet!" It was so funny.

Playdate
I have been so blessed through the stress of this summer. I have gotten closer to some wonderful people, and have developed new friendships. Jenn has been a tremendous blessing in our lives over the last couple of months. It was fun for her to just come over and visit this week and let Preston and Isaac play together. Preston was trying to feed him, it was so funny! Isaac kept opening his mouth every time to that empty spoon :-) Jen is such a sweet kind selfless person, she just opened her heart up to our family and I am so thankful for her and her friendship.

Story Time and Paisley's weight
I used to take Sophia all the time to story time when she was little and she loved it. I was thrilled when I was able to get Preston into a toddler story time at our local library. He absolutely loves to be read to, and loves music and singing as well. All three things are in abundance at story time. So today we went for our first time. I was a little surprised and how distracted he was and how he didn't sit as well as he usually does for story time but he did well. They read three stories that were about fall and leaves. After the stories they played some music and the kids got to dance and play a little bit. And then they got to do a little coloring activity where they colored on paper that had a leaf underneath. So he got to make his first leaf rubbing.

Yesterday I brought Miss Paisley to the doctor. I am thrilled to report that she is up to 6lb exactly! She is growing so big. It isn't exactly as much as they would like her to be gaining but she is gaining at least. It averages out to about 22 grams a day versus the 30 that they would like. She is also seeming to be spitting up more and more often. I am praying that this isn't anything to be concerned about, and rejoicing that she is still gaining with all of the puking. Preston is so cute with her. He says "I hold it mommy?" when he wants to hold her. And then is so thrilled when I lay her on his lap for the thirty seconds that he wants her.

Preston's birthday
I can't believe my little guy is getting ready to be two. This last year with him has been such a roller coaster ride. I am so very thankful for all of the many answered prayers that have been answered in regards to him. When we were dealing with all the intestinal stuff, and fighting insurance it felt like we were never going to get to the other side, but praise God He opened the doors and here we are celebrating a HEALTHY two year old who is amazingly sweet and funny.
His favorite things lately are Curious George, school buses, vehicles, and reading. He grabs books and grabs whoever he can and says "read it, read it" until you do. He will also grab your hand and try to pull you down and say "sit down and read it." He loves his reading. He also has been walking around singing a song that he has made up himself, it is a combination of the alphabet, twinkle twinkle little star, and Jesus Loves Me. So sweet!
We did a school bus theme for his birthday as that is his favorite thing right now. I am so blessed to have such wonderful helpful people in my life. One friend said your job is to tell me what you want and I will make it happen... How awesome is that? So Stephanie made Preston his amazing cake and she made his birthday banner. She also helped do lots of set up and the clean up. AMAZINGLY blessed am I!!!
We had a gorgeous day, and were so happy to be able to celebrate with lots of people that we love. Preston loves Abby and Bre, those are some of his favorite friends.
